Hi classmates, today I’m going to talk about of the best musician of Latin America.
Luis Alberto Spinetta, better known as “El Flaco”, He was an Argentine rock singer, guitarist, poet and composer. He is considered one of the most important musicians in Latin America of the last years for his great variety and musical and lyrical complexity. In his work there is influence from many writers and philosophers like Rimbaud, Jung, Nietzsche, Foucault, Sartre, Deleuze, Artaud and others.
He was born on January 23, 1950 in Buenos Aires and died on February 8, 2012 at age 62 of lung cancer.

When he was a child, he lived in Nuñez neighborhood very close to the River Plate stadium. His first approaches with the music were for his father and his uncles because they used to sing tangos and they encourage the young Spinetta to sing along with them. His first guitar was lent by José "Machín" Gomezza, a neighbor and famous character of the River Plate Club, and he received his first lessons from Dionisio Visoná, a guitarist who had accompanied his father in singing tangos, after Spinetta began to be self-taught. When he was a teenager he started to compose his first songs.

Almendra was his first band, characterized by being a band of friends from the same neighborhood and being one of the first Argentine rock bands, after two disc Almendra it dissolves and Spinetta leads a new band called Pescado Rabioso. this band stands out for being hard rock with psychedelic rock mixes. possibly it is the most well-known band of Spinetta also with two discs, nevertheless, Pesacado Rabioso comes to an end and Luis Alberto records his most recognized albums, Artaud an album that demonstrates the musical project that Spinetta wanted to do with rock.




After Artaud it appears invisible. this band is characterized by progressive rock-jazz and its existentialists lyrics, in addition to a conceptual disc. After invisible Spinetta enters into to the stage of jazz, forming the group Spinetta jade and started his first steps as a soloist. Spinetta Jade finally dissolves and Spinetta begins to collaborate with different Argentine musicians such as Fito Paez and Charly Garcia, in addition to their individual projects. in 1994 Spinetta founds a new group. Spinetta y los socios del desierto. with this group he returns to a rock style mixing it with his advances in jazz-fusion. Finally, in the year 2000 Spinetta returns to be a soloist and creates different rock fusion albums until his last years of his life.
